Obituary

Worcester—Edna Anna (Carlson) Strand, 81, formerly of Brookhaven Rd., died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in the Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Roy C. Strand, a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald C. and Joann Strand, of Burlington, MA; a grandson, Eric Strand of Merrimack, NH; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Strand of Lowell. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Edna was born in Worcester, daughter of Knut and Clara (Werme) Carlson. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked as a clerk at Norton Co. during WWII. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.
