Obituary

Worcester: Dorothy (Bagdigian) Yagjian, 94, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Knollwood Nursing Center. She leaves a sister- Betty Shooshan of CT and many loving nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years- Arthur Yagjian and siblings Mary Zimmer, Mitchell Bagdigian and Alice Yagjian.

Dorothy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Harry and Agavny (Koobatian) Bagdigian. She graduated from Classical High School and for many years worked as a legal secretary at the law firm of Mountain, Dearborn, and Whiting. She was an active member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and volunteered as a docent at the Higgins Armory and Salisbury Mansion. She will be fondly remembered for her many artistic talents that brought her so much joy, including painting, sewing, quilling, decoupage, and her well-loved hat shows.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 3-6 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A Dahngark service will be held at 5:00 p.m., during the calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour 87 Salisbury St. Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
