Obituary

Worcester, MA - Dorothy A. Palmgren passed away February 20, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Andrew S. Palmgren and Alinda Johnson Palmgren. She leaves her sister Linda A. Doherty and her husband Cornelius of Winthrop, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by siblings Elizabeth Neville, Roger Palmgren, Grace Hunt, Russell Palmgren, Mae Palmgren, and Alden Palmgren.


Dorothy worked as a secretary at Exxon in New York City. Upon her retirement, she returned to Worcester and worked as events coordinator at Mechanics Hall.
She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a former museum teacher at Old Sturbridge Village, and a longtime member of the National American Glass Club.

A graveside funeral service and committal of her ashes will be held at All Faiths Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester, MA on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St., Worcester MA 01608, or to Abby's House, Inc., 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609.
