Obituary

Rutland—Dorothy L. (Hulten) Ackerman, 78, died Monday, August 6, 2007, in the Auburn Life Care Center. She leaves her husband, Robert E. Ackerman, two sons, Gary M. Ackerman of Winchester, VA and Robert V. Ackerman and his wife Sandra of Rutland; six grandchildren, Leif G. Ackerman, Lukas A. Ackerman, Robert V. Ackerman, Jr., Meagan M. Ackerman, and Linnea K. Ackerman; a great-granddaughter, Mikaela R. Ackerman; and a sister, Elsie Spillane of Paxton. She was predeceased by 2 brothers. She was born in Holden, daughter of Gustaf V. and Anna (Mossberg) Hulten. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Worcester City Hospital and then at Worcester State Hospital as Head of the Criminal Psychiatric Unit. She was a cub scout den mother with Boy Scout Troop 110 when her sons were children, a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, and she loved Kingsbury Beach in Eastham, MA.

Calling hours will be held at NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester today, Wednesday, August 8, from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 9, at 10:30 a.m. in All Faiths Cemetery.
