Obituary

Worcester: Doris V. Carlberg, 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at home in the Briarwood Retirement Community. She leaves her best friend of 60 years Betty Cheney of Shrewsbury and Betty's sons Bradford, Christopher, and William Cheney and many close friends. She was predeceased by Wendell Cheney in 2011.

Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Jacob and Ellen (Landen) Carlberg. She graduated from Commerce High School and worked for almost 50 years as a secretary at Norton Company. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was an active member of the Norton Ski Club and Bowling League, and her favorite pastime was shopping for great bargains.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 73 Lancaster St. Worcester, MA 01609.
