Worcester: Donna M. Lyons, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. She leaves brothers James Lyons and his wife Mary of Worcester, MA, Robert Lyons of Los Vegas, NV and a sister Sandra and her husband Michael Gauthier of Brattleboro, VT. Nieces and nephews Traci and her husband Luis Fontanez of Worcester, Matthew Lyons of Palmer, Beth and her husband Matthew Standring of Paxton, Dylan Gauthier and his wife Becka of Fairfax, VT, and Cody Gauthier and his partner Tori McKenney of Lewiston, ME. Grandnieces and grandnephews, Tianna and her partner Brian, Alexis and her spouse Gianni, Tyler and his partner Meghan, Jacob, Colby and his fiancé Emilia, and Keagan. Great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews Mia, Leo, Paxton, Ivy, Luke, Thomas and Emersyn. And many dear friends.

Donna was born in Worcester, daughter of the late James Lyons and Agnes (Lafley) Lyons. She graduated from the former Marion High School and retired from the Mercy Center after over 40 years. She did respite work for many years, but two people had a special place in her heart, Gracie Carmody and Matthew Hurley. She was an avid lifelong Red Sox fan. She enjoyed bowling, dining out, reading, doing puzzles, crafts and collecting snowmen. Donna loved to play cards and she had many groups of family and friends she played with over the years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandnieces and great grandnephews, who brought her so much joy.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. Calling hours will follow until 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's memory may be made to the Mercy Center, 216 W. Boylston St., West Boylston, MA 01583.
