Obituary

Worcester—Donald R. Wise, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Ora (Wilson) Wise; a son, Donald R. Wise, Jr., of Southbridge; 3 daughters, Donna L. Andrews and Gordon Catton of Hudson, Linda K. Lessard and her husband Brian of Worcester, and Terry A. Surbito and her husband Fred of Oxford; 3 brothers, George and his wife Marion and Emmett and his wife Charlotte, of Worcester, and Douglas and his wife Helen of WV; 1 sister, Laura Jean Wilson of WV; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. A brother, Charles Wise predeceased him.

He was born in Morgantown, WV, son of Julia C. (Jenkins) and George C. Wise. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Donald was a service manager at Peterson Oil Service for many years, and was a former member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, golfing, and playing horseshoes.

Calling hours will be at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street Wednesday, Sept. 23rd from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 24th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
