Manchester, NH-Donald B. Roseen, 67, died suddenly January 19, 2008, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Paul B. and Margaret M. (Donovan) Roseen, and born in Worcester, MA., and had settled in New Hampshire for the last fifteen years.

He graduated from North High School in Worcester, MA., attended Worcester Junior College and Nasson College before enlisting in the Army during the Vietnam War. While in the service he was primarily stationed in Japan where he earned his batchelor's degree in history at Sophia University.

After his military service he moved to California and worked as a machinist for a number of years for Caterpillar Tractor Inc., and Westinghouse Marine Div. He continued to further his education by attending community colleges in those locations, studying business administration.

He enjoyed volunteering whenever possible, helping at his residence and giving a few hours each week to the VA Hospital in Manchester.

He was an avid reader and spent many hours at the library catching up with politics and business news, and an advocate for civil rights.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Sweeney Post in Manchester and enjoyed marching in the Veterans Day parade.

Surviving immediate family members include his sister Carol Parsons of Missouri City, Texas; brother Paul B. Roseen of N. Grafton, MA; sister Linda Payton of Worcester, MA; and brother Eric Roseen of Tuftonboro, NH. He also leaves their spouses and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Thursday, Jan. 24. A calling hour will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Worcester.
