Obituary

Donald L. Hofstra, 74, died at home of cancer on Monday, September 19, 2005. He leaves his wife, Elizabeth M. (Hall) Hofstra; 2 daughters, Donna Egloff and her husband, Ronald, and Karen Paquette and her husband, Edmond; a stepdaughter, Laurie Sanchez and her husband, Octavio; 2 stepsons, Mark Johnson and his wife, Rose, and David Johnson and his wife, Christine; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Cristina, Nicolas, Mandy, Kerri, Cole, Elena, Michael, and David; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was born in New York, son of John and Phoebe (Haviland) Hofstra. He worked for 28 years at Bay State Abrasives and most recently at Doug Russell Marine. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden. He was an avid golfer and bowler as well as an ardent fan of the Patriots.

Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland St., Holden at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22. Burial will be Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, today, Sept. 21, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UMass/Memorial Hospice, P.O.
