Obituary

Donald Richard Coblentz, 77, resident of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Umass Memorial Hospital on February 15th, 2026 due to complications of pneumonia, secondary to Parkinson’s disease. Donald grew up in Worcester, MA where he attended Worcester Academy for high school. Upon graduation, he attended Case Western Reserve for his undergraduate degree followed by earning his JD at Boston College. Ever the adventurer, Donald set out and started his own law practice, focusing primarily on business law which he practiced until Parkinson’s forced him to retire two years ago. When not representing clients and preparing for cases, Donald was found on the golf course, practicing his drive or on the tennis courts, practicing his serve.

Donald was known for his wit and charisma, always sharing a laugh and inspiring others with his innate curiosity. His zest for life was reflected through his travels around the world, the diverse literature he indulged in, and the unique cuisines he enjoyed experiencing. Even after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Donald was still active as ever, going out and staying in touch with friends old and new. Donald’s love of people remained with him until his dying day as he bravely faced his deteriorating condition, all the while bantering and teasing the nurses who looked after him. He leaves behind his son, Philip Coblentz and sister, Harriet Feinburg.
