Obituary

Shrewsbury: Denise M. (Charpientier) Bachand, 82, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in St. Vincent's Hospital Worcester. She leaves 2 sons and a daughter - Robert H. Bachand, Christine E. and her husband Bobby Hancock of MS, and Alan R. and his wife Linda Bachand of Douglas; 7 grandchildren - Rebecca, Jacqueline, Brian, Jesse, Matthew, Joshua, and Kane; 2 great grandchildren - Kylie and Aiden; 5 brothers - John and his wife Margie, Roland "Rollie" and his wife Jeanne, Francis "Curly" and his wife Venita, Richard, and David and his wife Phyllis; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Shirley Golden. Denise was predeceased by her husband Henry Bachand, a brother Lucien, and 2 grandchildren Jacob and Renee.

Denise was born in Leominster, daughter of Lucien and Marie-Ange (Desilets) Charpientier. She attended St. Stephen's High School in Worcester. While raising her children, she worked for many years as a waitress at Friendly's Restaurant. She enjoyed line dancing, crafting, spending time with her family and friends at her lake house in Manchaug and volunteering at the Senior Center in Shrewsbury. She will always be remembered as a wonderful caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
