Worcester—Deborah Lynn Petersen, 48, of 113 May St., entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 26, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She was the daughter of Reverend Charles Otto and Patricia (Sargeant) Petersen. She also leaves her brother Charles Otto Petersen Jr., sister-in-law Judith, and nephews Jacob and Jarrod. She also leaves her dearest friend, Doris L. Higgins.
Miss Petersen was a practicing Certified Dental Assistant and Certified Dental Manager until her illness became too advanced. Debbie graduated in 1977 from South High School where she played clarinet in the school band. She received the John Philip Sousa Award. She was a member of the National, State, and Worcester Dental Assistant Associations. She was an active member of the First Alliance Church where she served as the church organist and choir director. She also taught a class in the Awana group. She sponsored children and took them to camp. Her life was spent in service to her parents, her church and friends, and most of all her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Debbie's favorite hobby was to make gift baskets for her family and friends.
The burial service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Hope Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund, First Alliance Church, 1411 Main St., Worcester MA 01603. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street is directing arrangements.
