Obituary

Worcester - Charlotte Avis (Osborn) Joyce, widow of Oliver Beard Joyce, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2014, at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center. She was born in Worcester on May 3, 1927, daughter of the late Esther Brigham (Rumrill) and Raymond Franklin Osborn. Charlotte graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School. She retired from General Electric in 1973 after 25 years of service. She was a 72-year member of Adams Square Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, chaired the Missionary Committee, and belonged to the Women's Group. She was a member of the Sons & Daughters of Liberty. Charlotte loved to read and was an avid Red Sox fan.

She leaves a sister, Ruth Dansereau, and 13 nieces and nephews. She also leaves numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, dear friends, and her church family. She was predeceased by sisters Esther Osborn and Eleanor Howard.

Funeral services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester MA 01605 on Saturday, Sept. 13. A calling hour from 10:30-11:30am will be followed by the funeral service at 11:30am. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adams Square Baptist Church, 266 Lincoln Street, Worcester MA 01605.
