Obituary

Chelsea, MA - Charles B. Gilbert, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2011, in the Chelsea Soldiers' Home. His wife, Sylvia (Meldonyan) predeceased him. He is survived by a sister, Ruth E. Sundstrom of Worcester and her son Ronald Sundstrom of NC.

Charles Bacon Gilbert was born in Putnam, CT, son of Edith E. (Cook) and Carl E. Gilbert and was raised in Pomfret, CT. Charles was a WWII Army veteran with the 874th Ordnance Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company. He was Honorably Discharged on April 15, 1946. Charlie attended Emerson College. He was a radio announcer on stations WCAT and WNEB and also worked for the Borden Dairy Co.

Funeral Service Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, Worcester at 11:00 a.m.

Interment on Thursday, October 13, 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
