Obituary

Hudson – Carolyn R. (Swanson) Beland, 81, of River Road, passed away peacefully on November 30, with her family by her side. The family wishes to thank the staff in the Critical Care Unit at U- Mass Memorial Hospital in Worcester for their exceptional care and kindness during the final hours of Carolyn's life.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rene M. Beland; her daughter, Renee Medeiros and her husband, John, of Worcester; her son, Scott McCarthy and his wife, Gabriele, of New Salem; her daughter, Paula Richardson and her husband, Mark, of Paxton; and her grandson, Stephen S. Richardson of Dunstable. She also leaves her stepchildren, Nancy Williams of Charlton and Michael Beland, in Maine, and their families. She was the daughter of the late Olaf J. and Daisy M. Swanson. Her sister, Martha Bell, of Ohio, predeceased her.

Carolyn was thoughtful and generous, and deeply loved by her family and many friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, assisted the family with arrangements, which were private.
