Obituary

Carl W. Ludvigsen Jr., 50, of 477 Pleasant St., died Sunday, Aug. 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 16 years, Ilana N. (Arith-Kindree) Ludvigsen; a son, Jesse E. Ludvigsen of Paxton; three daughters, Elasa E., Ariel A. and Eladra E. Ludvigsen, all of Paxton; his father and stepmother, Carl W. Ludvigsen Sr. and Lee Ludvigsen of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Alfred R. Ludvigsen of Dunbarton, N.H., and Phillip J. Ludvigsen of Hillsborough, N.J.; two sisters, Sharon L. Gunn of Hebron, Maine, and Jean E. Binder of Ellis, Kan.; nieces and nephews.

He was born in Palo Alto, Calif., son of the late Florence E. (Burkhaulter) Ludvigsen. He graduated with a degree in medicine and a degree in law and received a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Mr. Ludvigsen was director of diagnostics at Athena Laboratories in the Worcester Biomedical Complex, Worcester.

The private funeral service and burial will be at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Save the Children, Attention: Donor Services, 54 Wilton Road, Westport, CT 06880. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
