Obituary

Carl Olof Granquist, 85, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Radius Healthcare. His wife of 58 years, May-Britt E. (Schultzberg) Granquist, died in March. He leaves 2 sons, Robert and his wife Elena of Brookline and Russell and his wife Leslie of Charlton; 2 sisters, Ina Soderman of Holden and Nancy Wilson of Florida, a granddaughter, Melissa; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Karlskoga, Sweden, son of C. Victor and Edla (Grahn) Granquist. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, stationed in the South Pacific. He also served in the Korean War. Carl was employed at Woodbury & Co., and later taught school in the Nashoba Valley Technical School System and finally retired in 1986 as technical illustrator for Jamesbury Corp. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Greendale Men's Club, and AARP. He was a member of the Swedish Folk Dance Club and was both a square and round dancer since 1961. Funeral services will be private. The family has entrusted Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St, with arrangements.
