Obituary

Worcester, MA - Betsabe (Aldana) Valencia, 78, died after a long illness at The University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center, University Campus surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was born in Bogota, Colombia, daughter of Maria Guadalupe (Bernal) and Pasqual Aldana.

Betsabe was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves 2 daughters and 4 sons, Nubia Valencia and her husband Carlos Torres, Marlene Zamora and her husband Paudely, Cesar Valencia and his wife Karonlay, Julio Valencia and his wife Aracely, Javier Valencia, and Oscar Valencia; a brother, Misael Aldana; a sister, Maria Escolastica (Maruja) Castillo; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otoniel Valencia; 3 brothers; and a sister.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester from 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 24. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in The Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
