Obituary

PAXTON- Avis I. (Wyman) Saarinen, 74, died Saturday, October 9, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Her husband, Leonard B. Saarinen, Sr., and her parents, Chandler W. and Siami A. Wyman, predeceased her.

She leaves her children, Steven A. Saarinen and wife, Linda; Susan A. LaRoche and husband, James; Kathy Avis Saarinen; Leonard B. Saarinen, Jr., and wife, Carrie. Beloved grandmother to Catherine Stough and husband, James; Kristen Thacker and husband, Jason; Russell LaRoche and fiancée, Katherine Sweeny; Jennifer and Preston Saarinen; and Christy Rothenberger; special great- grandchildren Jason and Spencer Stough, Lillyan and Elijah Thacker; special sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Wyman, sister-in-law Alice Soderman and husband, Herb; brother-in-law, Ralph V. Saarinen and wife, Elenor; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by beloved brothers Chandler W., Donald G., and Robert K. and his wife Donna Wyman.

A graveside service will be held on Wed., Oct. 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108.
