Obituary

WORCESTER - Aurea Duggan, 85, wife of accountant John F. Duggan (deceased), died on December 5, 2013 at Kindred Nursing Home in Westborough. She was born in Hudson, MA, daughter of Joseph and Izaura Almeida. A long-time Worcester resident, Aurea graduated from Commerce High School and worked for the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company. Married at Our Lady of Fatima parish, she then belonged to Our Lady of the Rosary until her recent illness. Her local community involvement included the PTA and the Women's Guild at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She enjoyed staying current on community news, activities, and sports. Her favorite teams were the Red Sox and Celtics. Survivors include son, John F. Duggan, Jr. of Boxborough; daughter, Judith Freeman of Fairfax Station, VA; granddaughter, Lauren Freeman of Fairfax Station, VA; sister, Linda Granger of Worcester; and numerous relatives. Her brother, Dr. Silverio Almeida of Kiawah Island, SC, predeceased her.

The funeral service will be held from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Monday, Dec. 16, with a 10:00 a.m. Mass in Our Lady of the Rosary, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. To leave a message in the online guestbook, please click link below.
