Obituary



Holden—Arvo John Peterson, 97, died peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2008, with family at his bedside in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. His wife of 60 years, Aino Rachel (Seppi) Peterson, died in 1995. He leaves a son, David J. Peterson and his wife, Helen, of Whitinsville; a daughter, Karen J. Gaskin and her husband Gary of Holden; 4 grandchildren, Scott Peterson and his companion Suzanne Valente of Northboro, Pamela French and her husband Michael of Northbridge, Samuel Gaskin of Holden, Rachel Gaskin of Libertyville, IL; and 2 great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Allison French of Northbridge. He was born Arvo Johannes Lammi in Waukegan, IL, son of Jaakoppi and Wilhemiina (Reini) Lammi. In 1944, Arvo changed his name to Arvo John Peterson. He resided in the Town of Holden for over 60 years and worked at Norton Company for 34 years, retiring in 1966.
