Obituary

Shrewsbury—Argiro "Argie" (Markopoulos) Litis, 82, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the Christopher House of Worcester. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Theofan H. "John" Litis; 3 children, Mary E. Rana and her husband Mike of Shrewsbury, Paul T. Litis and his wife Anne-Michelle of CT, and Ann K. Vangos and her husband Angelo of West Boylston; 6 grandchildren; a brother, Steve Markopoulos and his wife Mary of NY; a sister-in-law, Ann Markopoulos; and nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Nick and Helen Markopoulos. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Diamond and Athina (Kirkakis) Markopoulos. Argie was a secretary for many years at General Electric and later worked as a cashier at the Midtown Dinette, which she co-owned with her husband. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Senior Parishoner's group of the church.

Funeral services will be held at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Thursday, July 3, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. A Trisagion Service will be held during calling hours.
