Obituary

Worcester: Anna E. "Betty" Nelson, 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Notre Dame Healthcare Center. She leaves 2 daughters—Laurel-Nelson Cucchiara of Hubbardston and Brook Nelson-Caesar of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren—Joshua and Kaylin; and 2 great-grandchildren—Joshua and Letty. She was predeceased by her husband Lester H. Nelson and 2 brothers, John and Carl Holm.

Betty was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Nyquist) Holm. Betty graduated from North High School and earned her bachelors degree from Worcester State College in 1945. She dedicated her life to being a housewife and mother, living in Shrewsbury for 13 years with her husband and daughters, and moving to Princeton in 1969, where she lived for almost 40 years. Betty was a member of First Congregational Church in Princeton, the Princeton Garden Club, and Wachusett Meadows. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and hiking on Mount Wachusett.
