Obituary

Worcester: Alfred J. "Albie" Burroughs, Jr., 58, died on April 27, 2012, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus, after an illness.

Born in Worcester to Alfred and Gloria (Cuthbertson) Burroughs, Alfred leaves a son, Heath of Southbridge; a sister, Carolynn Mathisen of West Boylston; an uncle, Joseph Burroughs of San Diego, California; several cousins; and many friends.

Alfred enjoyed hiking, skiing, rock climbing, hunting, and fishing.

Alfred's family and friends would like to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at Memorial Hospital for their excellent care during his last days.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2012 from 5-7 pm. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
